Steps to getting accredited

While we move to a unified standard, we’ve suspended new applications from certification bodies. But this doesn’t apply to existing authorized CBs looking to expand their scope.

Step 1
Determine which accreditation body you will work with. We recommend that certification bodies reach out to their preferred accreditation body before applying to us.

Step 2
Before the accreditation body can begin their work, you need to submit a completed application to us for approval using the ASR-206 Certification Body Application Form.

Step 3
Upon receipt of the application, we’ll issue an invoice for the application fee. See the ASR-107 Certification Fee Structure. Payment of this fee is due upon receipt of the invoice.

Step 4
Upon receipt of payment, we can start the review of the application. Note that applications won’t be reviewed until payment has been received, and that reviews occur only periodically.

Step 5
Once an application is complete and the certification body has shown it has the right qualifications, we’ll provisionally accept the application.

Step 6
Upon recommendation from the accreditation body, we’ll typically issue a limited grace period to a certification body which is in the accreditation process.
